Monstera Leaves
May 2022

Oil on Canvas
This painting was inspired by the first houseplant I didn’t kill, the monstera deliciosa. I started the painting in a community education oil painting class, and finished it at home. Much like the class was the start of my painting journey, this monstera was also the prequel to my nature and landscape themed works. I used complementaries of pastel green and pink with hints of blue to invoke feelings of rejuvenation and spring. I picked an ornamental frame to bring this lively painting to life even more.
